DESCRIPTION
SOLUTION
This problem is most commonly caused by the use of older versions of Raven Pro. On November 13, 2019 we released Raven Pro 1.6.1, and sent an email announcement to all Raven customers. We encourage all Raven Pro licensees to install Raven Pro 1.6.1 because we no longer support older versions of Raven Pro, including Raven Pro 1.4 and Raven Pro 1.5. All valid Raven Pro licenses are valid for Raven Pro 1.6.1. If you have lost your serial number or otherwise have trouble registering Raven Pro 1.6.1, please contact us.
Raven Pro 1.6.1 can coexist in the same computer system as previous versions of Raven Pro, so you may want to keep all versions of Raven Pro until you have had time to recover any user data or presets for use in Raven Pro 1.6.1.
ALSO OF INTEREST
You may find several features in the new Raven website useful, including the Tutorial Videos, Knowledge Base, and Support Request form.
The K. Lisa Yang Center for Conservation Bioacoustics (Bioacoustics Research Program) offers a five-day introductory-level Sound Analysis Workshop at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (Ithaca, NY) featuring Raven Pro 1.6. The workshop is offered twice per year (spring and fall), and is intended primarily for biologists interested in analysis, visualization, and measurement of animal sounds. The workshop covers basic principles of spectrographic analysis and measurement of animal sounds, as well as specific tools and techniques in Raven Pro.
The K. Lisa Yang Center for Conservation Bioacoustics is pleased to announce the SWIFT, our new terrestrial autonomous recording unit. Our hope is that this unit will enable not only researchers, but also hobbyists, from all over the world to collect acoustics data in support of wildlife conservation efforts.
